Michael S. Jovan admits to receiving stolen property and was sentenced to one year probation in Palmer District Court.

Michael Scott Jovan, also know as Mike Jovan, living at 41 Craig Road, Holland MA, 01521 avoided a jury trial today, Monday December 11, 2010, by entering a “NoloContendere” statement in Palmer District Court. “Nolo Contendere,” statements are not really plea bargains, it is a deal between the accused, Mike Jovan, and the DA in which the accused (the defendant) will not contend the (lesser) charge or maintain a defense against it and instead signs a statement to that effect.
Mike Jovan was sentenced to one year probation. The case involves the theft of two heavy duty Husqvarna chainsaws and other tools and equipment stolen form Mike LaMountain co-owner of the hillside property off Mashapaug Road, also know as part of the Huguenot Farm.
The string of thefts started on Labor Day of 2008. To read the whole story written by the victim himself, click here»

deserving notoriety
We have now three known thieves in town; Earl Johnson (as of now still one of the selectmen), Kevin Gleason (jailed former Chief of Police), and Michael Jovan.
Is the third individual on the short list also a public official or former official? The mode of life, the habits and practices of these three individuals are similar.
It would not surprise me if Earl Johnson has friendly ties to Jovan. Is there a known connection?
I’m satisfied to see that this blog is giving these three individuals the notoriety they deserve.

The word on the street
The word on the street is after somone got done reading this article they went and took a ride past Mike Jovans house and low and behold they seen quite a few different things that had been stolen from them. I said it before and I'll say it again. If your missing anything or somethig has been stolen from you it may be worth your while to take a ride past Mike Jovans house. Your not allowed to go into or onto his property but his place abutts a public beach so you can pretty much walk around the whole place without ever stepping foot on his property. His address is listed in the article. If he is on or around your property chances are he is just looking to see if there is anything good to steal.

Final Outcome
Well I finally went to the last court case involving Mike Jovan this week. February 4th he was scheduled to be in court at 8:30 for a restitution hearing to determine how much he owed me for his actions of the fall of 2008.
We finally went before the judge at 4:15. I dont know if youve ever spent the entire day in court but its the worst. Sometimes the actual process of going to court is more of a punishment than actually the sentence. Luckily I didnt have to spend the entire day, I got there around 1.
Well when we finally went before the judge I had to take the stand. I had to explain to the judge exactly what had been stolen as well as what was recovered. We also discussed the fact that even though my 2 chainsaws had been returned, due to the fact an inexperienced operator tried using it that they were completely destroyed.
Here is the bill I submited to the District Attorneys office.
2- 372xp Husqvarna Professional Chainsaws $1700
2- Cords of seasoned firewood $600
1- Infered Security Trail Camera $250
1- Tire chain jack $250
Now because when I went to his trial back in January I didnt have all of my receipts for all of my stuff there was a cap of $1000 placed on the restitution. I did have more of the receipts when I showed up on Wednesday. They totaled well over the $1000 cap and the judge did not hesitate to order the MAXIMUM restitution be payed by Mike Jovan to me for receiving and destroying stolen property.
I saif it before and Ill say it again, if Mike Jovan is around your property chances are he is just looking around to see if there is anything good to steal. If you have or have had something stolen the first place I would check is Mike Jovans at the end of craig rd in Holland.
I want to thank the Assistant District Attorney as well as the victim advocate for doing a good job on this case and guiding me through this whole thing. I wish I never had to go through this. I hope Mike Jovan will stop stealing from the people in Holland but I doubt he will. Some people just cannot control themselves
