Wettlaufer Helps Truckstop Drainage
The following is an article from September, It is clear the state is helping grossi through the back door by providing Grant money to improve the runoff in the area of Wettlaufers truck stop. The area wettlaufer is proposing to use the quarter million dollars is an area that any developer of the truck stop land would need to address as part of their project.
Here again wettlaufer smoothly decieves the public to help his friends build their truckstop.
Holland eyes erosion, pollution control sites

HOLLAND - Selectmen Chairman James E. Wettlaufer sees problem sites at the southern end of Hamilton Reservoir as likely places to use a $228,450 state grant to combat erosion and pollution, but said the Lake Oversight Committee will make that determination.
"This money will allow us to do probably just one area," Wettlaufer said. "We will have to pick the one where we can do the most work for the money available." The Pioneer Valley Planning Commission will administer the grant for the town.
The state Department of Environmental Protection has announced that Holland will receive its grant next year as part of a $2.2 million program to fund 11 projects throughout the state. The money comes through what is called the Section 319 Nonpoint Source Competitive Grant Program.
Common types of nonpoint source pollution include phosphorus and nitrogen from lawn and garden fertilizers; bacteria from pet waste and waterfowl; oil and grease from parking lots and roadways; and sediment from construction activities and soil erosion.
"Nonpoint source pollution degrades the quality of the water in our lakes, streams and watersheds, and threatens the quality of life in communities across our commonwealth," said Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Ian A. Bowles. "These grants will fund important projects that can prevent pollutants from entering our environment and spoiling our natural resources."
Wettlaufer said there is tremendous runoff into Hamilton Reservoir from Mashapaug Road between Brandon and Fenton streets. Another high priority location is where May Brook enters the reservoir, he said. Both locations are at the southern end of the lake, near the Connecticut line.
Wettlaufer said there is a lot of erosion at the reservoir, and it becomes shallower each year as a result.
The oversight committee has spent considerable time studying the sources of pollution and erosion and will make a decision early next year on where to spend the grant money.
State Sen. Stephen M. Brewer, D-Barre, praised the decision to provide grant money to Holland for the work, saying environmental quality of life is his highest legislative priority.
"Recreational and environmental quality of life in this region is dictated largely by the Hamilton Reservoir Watershed," Brewer said.
State Rep. Todd M. Smola, R-Palmer, said he applauds the state for recognizing the threats facing Hamilton Reservoir.

?
Mr. Frei,
I was just wondering what you are building next to your house? It looks great. Someone at the Holland Market said it was a garage, but I could not help but notice that it looks a lot like a house.

A castle!
Thanks for the compliment! I like to build hands on and I wanted to have a turret. Castles have turrets, therefore it is supposed to be a castle. The steeple roof on the turret I will build next spring. It will truly be nice once it is all finished!

State Primary
Yesterday, December 8, was the state primary. Polls were open from 7 AM to 8PM Statewide. Sorry to disappoint, no evil doing, no corrupt business dealings or dumping of bodies, just good ole' American Democracy. Maybe people should pay more attention to it instead of being paranoid. Voting is the only way to change what you don't like.

Martha Coakly LOL
More law enforcement in the Senate. Just what we need .. I hear they are looking for a new constitution in Iraq.. We should send them ours after all we are not using it.
So it does not matter because the seat she will fill already stinks due to the criminal thug who occupied it for the past 30 odd years. Ted is Dead thats the only good part of this. I wonder what he said to Mary Joe when he was on his journey.
Corruption equals Kennedy. And we all know it so u gotta be kidding.

Some Stats
Yesterday (24 hour period), 154 visitors spent an average of 8:39 minutes on the Holland Blog; out of the 154 visitors 70 visitors were absolute unique visitors, 84 visitors were returning visitors.
Over the last 30 days, 639 unique visitors visited the Holland Blog.
A total of 799 page-views were counted by Google in the last 24 hours.
The Holland Blog maintains a filter on Google to filter-out the Holland Blog’s and LaMountain’s hits, (IP numbers.)
The hit counter on the Holland Blog however counts all the hits. This explains why the hit-counter on the Holland Blog accounts for more hits than the Google counter shows.
For instance, in the last 24 hours, the Google counter counted 1,421 hits; the counter shown on the Holland Blog increased 1,506 hits during the same time.
2% of visitors still use a dial-up connection, 62% use cable access, the rest DSL or T1 connections. 72.82% use Internet Explorer (Windows platform), 38% Safari (Apple platform), 8.01% Firefox, the rest Chrome and others.
Google performs a benchmark test by comparing all sites of similar size. Average time spent on the Holland Blog per visitor is 76.21% higher then the benchmark.
Loyalty: 10.80% visited only once during the last 30 days; 25.15% visited 200 times or more, the highest percentage for the highest segment (the Google table has no higher segment!)

Imagine
I was just sitting back next to my nice warm fire imagining how many other people spread all over central mass are sitting back next to their nice warm fires, heating their homes with firewood provided by our Holland farming operations. Quite a few I can imagine. Remember, it's never to early to start thinking about your firewood for next year.
Another thing I try to imagine when I drive around is what Holland looked like when all the trees were cut down. Back then almost everyone was a farmer. There were a lot less houses, no highways and chances are you could probably name everone who lived in your town. I find stone walls and foundations miles into the deep forest. According to one map I've seen there was about 7 houses on my property. Can you imagine that? From what I'm also told, my farm was the first land settled in Holland. It was known as "Blodgett Farm". When I'm working out there everyday I imagine them farming the same land I'm working on hundreds of years later. Everywhere I work out there has allready been worked. I have machines, they had animals. Just imagine. Imagine what Holland looked like before your house was here. Before your neighborhood was here. Before someone cut down the trees and built a dam so we could live next to the lake. When if you had a river or stream on your property you put a waterwheel in it and a building right next to it and that's were our power came from. What a difference.
Well Merry Christmas Neighbors

Stake Out
Their is a State Police Stakeout on Lakeridge Drive right now. I was concerned about the suspisious vehicle so I went to check it out. Today in times Sq. NYC there was an illegally parked van and they had over 100 cops, FBI and anti terrorist task force converge on it an open it up only to find no threat. Heck of a way to treat your parking scoflaws. This Country is going nuts.

Illegal Turkeys
“Illegal crosswalk” Has anyone ever heard that term used before this case? Or maybe it is just another round of the childish antics put out by the spin doctors of this town. The only thing illegal about the whole “illegal crosswalk” fiasco is the reason we needed a crosswalk to begin with. Before the crosswalk was laid out in marking paint we did not have to cross the very busy street with our young children. The illegal part is how the town BARRICADED our access to our beachfront property. Before our property was illegally barricaded we were able to park on the proper side of the street and there was no reason for the young children to cross Mashapaug rd which is notorious for speeding. So the only thing illegal about the crosswalk is the reason for its existence. Let me guess, maybe we should just stop enjoying our beach and just pay our taxes on it and shut up? Oh wait, let me use another term none has ever heard till now. Our “illegal beach.”
Another new term. “Illegal turkeys” You would lead people to believe with your comment that we actually set a trap and tried to capture turkeys. Well that couldn’t be further from the truth. Maybe you have no heart but when I find ORPHANED one day old turkey chicks directly in the path of heavy machinery and chainsaws I personally cannot kill them. I myself want to give them a fighting chance at life, that is why I SAVED the turkeys from certain death. I placed them in a box with food, water and a heat lamp. Hindsight makes me believe that the PROPER thing to do would have been to run them over with the machine. Is that what you would have preferred? Furthermore, has anyone ever heard of someone being arrested for having “illegal turkeys” or is that another new one reserved just for us?
So you think we hate Holland huh? That again could not be further from the truth. Holland is one of the most beautiful small towns Central Mass has to offer, as long as you don’t have to go into the town hall. I personally have lived here for most of my life, since 1995 when I was 12 years old. There are not many jobs in this town, probably less than 100 but I have one. I invested my entire future and almost all of my time including the weekends into making something out of nothing. So for you to suggest I find somewhere else to live implies that you should seek the help you prescribe.
I could go on, I could provide you with the MGL that allows farmers to take 10 cords of wood per year out of the wetlands. I could provide you with the law that allows farms to burn all year long. I could go into detail about how hard it is just to get one of our candidates on the ballot. I could defend the blog as being the only place we have to get the towns dirty little secrets out that you’d prefer swept under the rug. I could defend the need for our “frivolous lawsuits” and the fact that you think we should just give up our property RIGHTS. I could, but I don’t have the time as I have to go PRODUCE farm products as it is 8:30 in the morning and a farmers work is never done.
If I can leave with just one little saying that applies to this situation: NO FARMS=NO FOOD
