Society’s obsession with sex.
I did get an anonymous phone call after I posted the comment defending Lamountain about having consensual sex with a teenager two weeks short of her 16th birthday. The (female?) caller seems to be upset that In my opinion LaMountain’s five year jail sentence didn’t fit the crime. The caller said that I’m as bad as James LaMountain. I can live with that, I prefer to be as bad as James LaMountain, I would object to being compared with individuals like Earl Johnson, James Wettlaufer, or many other town officials as James LaMountain doesn’t steal and/or lie, (remember Kevin Gleason?, or “Johnson-Landgate?”).Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the left, and Justice Sonia Sotomayor on the right.
Not many people do know that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg of the United States Supreme Court suggested in her report “Sex Bias in the U.S. Code,” to lower the age of consent from 16 years to 12, and did so 32 years ago! If I look at some of the 16 year old teenagers, they don’t look like children in need of protection to me. To me they seem to know what they want and are old enough to decide for themselves.
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg made the suggestion to lower the age of consent to 12 years on page 102 in her report to the United States Commission on Civil Rights. As always, the Holland Blog backs up its claims, just click on “report” or “page 102” to read Justice Ginsburg’s statement. Click on any other word written in bold/italic to follow the links!

.. I have a very good friend for the past 30 plus years. She got pregnant when she was 12. By the time she was 20 she had 4 children. She now has many grandchildren and we are as close now as we were when I met her at age 16. She was too young to have children at 12 though. She does not feel she was a victim and nobody was ever charged for her early pregnancy.
Her Daughter was 15 when the 30 year old neighbor deflowered her. My God-Daughter. She was happy to have been with the man and they later married and have a beautiful child together.
Also My foster Daughter, My x- Girlfriend and another un-named young lady I am close too all report that they had sex with older men when they were 11 and 12. They all knew their partners and no one was charged. The 3 above all feel resentful towards their early partners. They were too young to decide.
You need to draw the line someplace and 16 is as good as any. The problem is when the 15 year o;d Girls with raging hormones tell you they are older. ( I suppose no one ever heard of a teenage girl lying about their age???) If a young lady tells you she is over the age of consent and you have sexual relations with her you are guilty of rape of a child. It does not matter how old she looks to you, if it is later learned that she was just one day younger than 16. It does not matter if she lied about her age.
It does not matter if she was a willing participant. That is the law.
It is selectively applied but can ruin a mans life. I feel sorry for all the real victims. Like the 5 women I described above. Only two of them feel they were victimized.
If Judge Ruth allowed 12 year olds to "consent" then we would have a society of children raising children.
I advise all young men to ask your potential partner for ID before you get it on. If she looks 21 or less check her ID. If you do not it could ruin the rest of your entire life.
