The Following is the article that appeared in the Worcester Telegram on 27 October about the Babineau Duo.
Teen held on $1,000 in father’s stabbing
HOLLAND — A 19-year-old Amber Road man accused of stabbing his father in the face during an argument at their home Sunday night was ordered held on $1,000 bail at his arraignment yesterday in Palmer District Court.
According to a police report, Philip G. Babineau and friends were watching sports and drinking beer when his father got angry. Gary Babineau, 54, told police the altercation got physical and his son stabbed him. He and his son knocked on a neighbor’s door, Gary Babineau bleeding from cuts on his face. The neighbor called police.
Police found the Babineau home in disarray, a microwave oven smashed on the floor, a trail of blood drops through the house and a large, bloody knife, presumed to have been used in the alleged assault, in a pan. A sign on the wall in one of the evidence photos reads “Caution: Men drinking.”
Holland police arrested the younger Mr. Babineau on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. A judge listed Mr. Babineau’s drug problems and a failure to show up for a previous court date as reasons for the $1,000 bail. He is due back in court Nov. 16.

Babineau's are the son and grandson of yet another one of Holland's infamous selectmen Phil Babineau (now deceased). My God what's in the water in Holland anyway?????????

Glad I moved
I used to live in Holland and based on everything I've heard and have been reading I'm so glad I moved out of that town.... God help Holland residents. It used to be a nice summer resort town but now appears to a haven for corrupt officials and many bizarre residents.

To Matt Raymond, it is not about your mother, it is about the fact that Wettlaufer and Johnson listen to your mother’s shit. I will never forget her answer to my question what the “mess” is she claimed was on Mike’s beach during a public hearing before the Conservation Commission. Her answer was “beach chairs, toys, and grills” all over.. Does that sound like stuff that is consistent with what you would find on a beach?
The level 2 registered sex offender thing with LaMountain is getting old. He had consensual intercourse with a woman two weeks short of her 16th birthday. I remember meeting a sixteen year old girl in a dancing in Switzerland where admission required a minimum age of 18 years. I did not show her anything she did not know, to the contrary, she showed me some tricks and seemed to enjoy it (I was 22 years old at that time and a sixteen year old is legally not considered a minor in Switzerland). A lot of times things don’t seem to be what they look like. In James LaMountain’s case it was a business competitor who wanted to get rid of Jimmy and turned him in.
Lets put all this in prospective:
What bothers me is the fact that some of the same guys appoint over and over a corrupt police officer to the chief position so they can control him.
Only a few people remember Chief Matchett and his crew. The teenage daughter of Mark who was living on Old County Road used to sneak out her bedroom window on weekend nights without the knowledge of her parents. She was repeatedly gang-rapped by members of the Holland Police in the late 80’s (there was no consent!). There was even a hearing about it during which a lady (she is dead now) said, “Boys will be boys..” Matchett was forced to leave over the incidence and is also to blame for the fact that I had problems in this town from the get go.
Matchett wanted to buy the lake front property I now live on. He did not want to pay the $65,000 for the property and ganged up with Robert Diamond and Buff Condom, both members of the Board of Health back in 1986. As with previous potential buyers, they refused to sign a septic system plan that was in conformance with the requirements of title 5 so no bank would lend money thereby forcing the previous owner to take less. It did not work as I had the cash to buy it and did, as I did not know at the time what was going on.
As long as certain town officials are still in office nothing will change; we lost two honest, smart police officers just during the time since Gleason went to jail. Their names are Herb Duggen and Eric Stanley, and I had the pleasure of meeting both of them. Officially they have given plausible reasons why they had to resign, you can’t expect them to say something like, “I can’t work in a corrupt environment and be manipulated, I have to leave!” I’m surprised that acting Chief Brian C. Haughey is still around as he is an individual who is not controlled by Earl Johnson.
Matt, get over it and get laid, ah yea, what qualifies James LaMountain to care about the young woman and his children? His character!

I have no feud with your mother Matt. Where I come from unless you want to pay your neighbors taxes then you mind your own business. Especially with such a large buffer of tree'e between us. I first met your Mom while she was walking her dogs on the farm. I told her that would no longer be allowed. Perhaps she did not like that. Next I read a letter to the editor by your mom during the 07 election where she complained about our work on our land and parroted town hall spin.
She is a puppet..nothing more. I wish she would mind her own business. If she has a problem with a neighbor then she should be neighborly and speak to us directly. It is too late for that now. I wish her no Ill will but hope Karma will return what she puts out.
The Babineaus have been violent for years. If your Mom spent the time looking that way maybe there would not have been so many beaten women and children victimized in that house.

i know and have heard about the Babineaus. when i was a kid i use to cut gary's dad's lawn. over the years my parents and them stopped talking. basically, they try to steer clear from them. my heart goes out to that young woman and i hope the authorites are notified. i guess i was just mad because my mom's name shouldnt have gotten into the article. maybe someday everyone could talk everything out. at least in a perfect world that might happen.

Holland Police
I had business with the Holland Police yesterday and needed to go to the basement of the town hall to meet with the Chief. I have not been to the Police Department in close to a year and could not believe I was in the same place.
Gleason's slobby presence was evident in the Police Department during his tenure just as our new Chiefs orginizational skills jump out at you when you enter now.
The atmosphere in there is one of profesionalism and pride. The officers inside are much safer and I just wanted to point out the positive with our department that has come under much duress this past year.
Great Job. Chief, and Thank you for your courtesy and profesional demeanor. I say yoou should keep the top job.

Explain Yourself
Lawbreaking town employees seems to be a pre requisite these days. However I think our Police Chief has the best interests of Holland in his heart. Unlike others in our town hall who do what they do for personal gain. See Johnson Landgate and Wettlaufers truck stop.

that is because he is trying to save his job. So far he has. The selectman, and the residents know he does not meet min. requirements and let it slide. If this was Gleason, all would demand removal. Th residents that preech law, truth, ethics etc.., do not speak of this. they must like him, so they dont mind. I guess he has not arrested any of them yet.

Only a few audacious souls, god knows that there are too few in this town, dared to take issue with Gleason; the rest congregated to sign a petition to safe his job.
What were the min. requirements Gleason met?
Being a string-puppet and engage at will adopting the tactics and mindset of his corrupt mentors Earl Johnson and James Wettlaufer? Excel as protégé kindly towards conformists of the “establishment;” silently, ominously, towards the critics? Or is it a prior history of arrest for OUI and his inability to handle money?
“bk” alias “kb,” your concern seem to be misdirected and not genuine. I rather see a Chief appointed with some short comings willing to learn and grow than a chief that pockets the fees for seminars he doesn’t attend.
There is nothing written on this blog or elsewhere that would give cause to concerns about an appointment of Brian Haughey to the Chief position, to the contrary!

Jeez so what is your point ???????
Are you saying that our acting Chief has not recieved the required training at the municipal police program. I remember Jack Jovan could not pass the Police Training due to being so heavy and out of shape. I do not know what training Sgt Haughy has but if he is lacking then perhaps you should make an official complaint if it bothers you so much.
As I stated I only go by what I see and our Chief is certainly squared away and professional.

Thank you Holland Police for your interest in this matter. However Massachusetts State Police have taken over the investigation. Shauna is young and is recovering from her horrific ordeal at the Babineau house.
Now perhaps the Babineaus can recieve the services they need that will keep them from repeating this type of behavior.

Judge Patty
Today Judge Patty Pohler of the Palmer Court (who use to drive a race car) issued a protection order after Shauna courageously went to the Palmer Court to ask the Judge to issue the order. This comes on the heels of Phil sending Shauna a letter from the Jail at Ludlow asking her if she was "still his girl".
Perhaps Phil willl find his answer in Court this Monday during his pre-trial conference. Shauna will be there to ask the Judge to extend the protection order. I hope Phil finds the help he needs in keeping his demons under control.
I hope his Father Gary also finds a way to get the help he needs.

From what I've heard personally Phil has beat her at least 2 times since this story was written and she is in fear for her life so she will no longer report them ( father & son) to the police. Don't forget about the kidnapping and detached retna. That's just what I've heard from the horses mouth. Truth hurts huh Phil & dad. Tough guys always get what they have coming......served cold

Libel not Slander
When an untruth is said to or about a person and it causes damages it is called slander,.. But when an untruth is WRITTEN about someone and it causes damage it is called Libel,,, Any real attny would know that.. But neither of those things apply here as the victim submitted a written report on this incident to law enforcement, I also saw the bruises on Shauna's neck after the second beating Phil gave her when he got out of Jail for stabbing his father. It has to be a lie to be slander or libel.....That is NOT the case here.
