Christine McCooe accused of stealing campaign signs
The organizers of the Write-In Campaign set up campaign signs for the first time yesterday.
This morning most of them were gone. One of the readers of the Holland Blog, Holland resident Francis Reilly, attended a party last night at 7 Roberts Road. It just happened that Christine McCooe and her boyfriend (husband?) John attended the party as guests too. According to Frank (Francis Reilly),
Christine McCooe moved one of the campaign signs from the front to the back seat. Frank then asked her where she got the sign. She tried to diffuse the situation by making fun of it. Frank would not let lose and finally got the one sign back she had in her hands. According to Frank Christine and her boyfriend had a whole stack in the back of the car they were driving. Frank reported the incident at the barracks of the State Police. Trooper True took notes and called the McCooe residence. Christine denied knowing anything about the signs. It will be up to the owner of the signs,
James LaMountain to press charges. If he chooses to do so, McCooe may have to explain how her fingerprints ended up on the recovered sign.Peter Frei

I cannot believe that you would let unsubstantiated accusations into your blog like this! Was Ms. McCooe Hanson at this party? Have the police accused her or "found her fingerprints" on the signs? THis is absurd! I am so glad i live in a town where citizens can respectfully disagree without slandering someones good name.

I’m sorry that you are upset. If you live in a town were campaign signs disappear over night there is somebody doing it. It seems that Frank Reilly fortunately caught the perpetrator. Libel? Get a life!
Libel&Slander Fighter, do you have a name? You are some friend. If I would defend a friend I would at least use my name to give it some credibility! One element of a slander suit is that you need to prove that a statement including false allegations was willfully made knowing that the allegations were false. That is why Christine McCooe Hanson will not sue, that's why Kevin Gleason only talked about suing each time we caught him, that's why I never get sued and when I sue I always win at the end. Even if it takes six years because our town counsel lied to the Superior Court Judge in the last case during trial. Another statement I just made that would expose me to a libel suit if it wouldn't be true.
Why don't you leave us alone and watch Jerry Springer.

Accusations
I have known Christine McCooe for over 30 years. She has NEVER done anything unethical in all the years I have known her. She works hard and devotes many unpaid hours to Saving the Lake! Sounds as if Frie and LaMountain have an axe to grind!!! The thing with blogs is that there are two sides to every story. We are only hearing one side here. If I were Christine McCooe, I would sue Frie and LaMountain for defamation of character!! I am very happy I do not reside in Holland!

LaMountain did not make the accusation either. It was Frank Reilly who caught her with the signs and reported the theft. What Mrs. McCooe allegedly did is not only unethical, it is a crime! It is funny, you don’t live here, can’t even spell my name right but you certainly have an opinion about LaMountain and me.

Hi V. Welcome to the Blog. Ok go to Johnson Landgate under main menue. when there scroll to the bottom and click on the links for March 2006. There you will see McCooe's signature on the anr plan and also the vote for the common driveway McCooe was on the Planning board. So not only is it un-ethical to grant the special permit it is also Illegal.
Johnson and Company must think Holland is stupid. Why else did the CLAN try and pull something like Johnson-Gate, and think they can get away with it. Also the land for those homes was fraudulantly conveyed from Holland to the Johnson Family and Earl orchestrated the conveyance. Your definition of ethical has nothing to do with fact.

V.Marina Speare, even highly intelligent people need information to form an opinion, this is what I’m doing here, inform people. For instance people do want to know if it is true that Earl Johnson illegally conveyed land twenty years ago to his family; they want to know if it is true that the Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously granted a permit to “replace” a house that never existed; they need to know that two engineers of Jalbert Engineering Inc. fabricated a right of way and registered the fraudulent plan at the registry of deeds to help the Johnson’s; they need to know that the Planning Board signed an ANR plan (Approval Not Required) plan allowing the Johnson’s to illegally subdivide their land. All my claims and statements are researched and documented. The report documenting the forgoing claims is published on the Holland Blog, just click on the link “Johnson Landgate” on the left. And there will be much more they will learn from this source.
The definition of the word “tactics” used as a noun is: “The plans and methods used to achieve a particular short-term aim.” My plans are not “short-term,” I’m in it for the long haul. The method is offering the truth. If you have arguments or documents to rebut what is the “truth,” bring it on. Don’t make unqualified attacks on individuals just because you can’t handle the truth!
Here a fact: Christine McCooe Hansen signed the ANR plan that helped the Johnson’s in their illegal scheme known as Johnson Landgate. We have yet to hear from her that she was mislead or didn’t know better. Signs on town property are the norm in Holland. In past elections it has always been allowed during election time. Maybe the rules have changed because it is us?.. More town spin. Look around town at the Kayak guys signs. Escape estate signs. Hra signs (nice job on the hra signs by the way. They are very nice. Where did you get them?)
In any event I remember Earl Johnsons campaign signs stapled to telephone poles so just knock it off lisa. You can't make one person obey one set of rules and another person obey a different set of rules. We are all entitled to equal protection under the law. It is a guaranteed constitutional right. I believe the town is being sued because they apply different standards to themselves and their friends than they do others who oppose them.
That is just one thing they do.

Stanley-- Good for you! I'm glad a 15 year old who probably likes to play video games, and who must be bogged down with homework (which describes most normal 15 year olds) is interested in the truth! My Dad used to tell me that there are 3 sides to every story.. your side, my side and the truth. It is human nature to maybe leave a detail out... or to put yourself in the best light possible.... so in order to find the truth you have to ask questions. I recently took the time to meet Peter Frei in person...and to ask him questions.... about all of this stuff going on... I was incredibly impressed! Do you have any idea how smart Mr. Frei is? He is Swiss born, he speaks writes German and speaks it, he also knows French and...get this in Switzerland while they write in formal German they speak something called Switzerdeutch, which is really only a spoken language--not written-- and is very different from German. He is also an Engineer, with a degree for the University of Zurich. He came here in the 80's, speaking fairly poor English at the time... got involved with Flea Market and became a self made entrepreneur. Now he not only reads and writes English fluently, He is brilliant and gifted enough to be versed in the Mass General Laws (MGL's) (self taught) that prove Earl Johnson has done bad things. Call him. E-mail him. ASK Questions... he will talk to you. Talk to both sides... and decide for yourself what the truth is.... then give us an update. Good Luck kiddo!

Johnson Deed
The Deed that Earl Johnson Signed over to Doris Proulx who is Earls Mother-in Law can be found if you click on Johnson Landgate on the
upper left. It is the document dated 12-22-1980. There was no auction and Earls Mother in law only paid token taxes on the land for many years. When asked why the taxes were so cheap on the land, Earl told people the land was landlocked, unbuildable and worthless because it has 0 ZERO frontage on a public or private way and the driveway goes through somebodies back yard. Earl pays em off with political appointments and favors.
Then once the lil Johnson boys grew up Earl hatched his scheme. He had to compromise the integrity of many people to get his way. The ZBA . tax collector, assessors, planning board, a couple attorneys, bertin engineering, Building and zoning inspector and and Jalbert Engineering, and the Highway Department. Earl stacked a special town meeting to change by laws. However he still has problems because the subdivision violates state law which requires a minimum of 20 feet of road frontage to build. As I said Earl has ZERO frontage at
Johnson-Gate. No matter how Earl fiddled with by-laws and Special Town Meetings he can not change State Law.
Why do our other Selectmen take no action after being presented with the Johnson-Gate land scandel evidence on this Blog.
By the way, I brought the entire documentation that is on this blog regarding Land-Gate to an independent engineer who confirmed Peter Frei's findings that the subdivision is outside the law. He wrote a report and affixed his proffesional engineer's seal to the letter. Earls response was to call the Engineer who told Earl the letter spoke for utself. Earl then lied and told the engineer I am a child molestor.
After we discovered and announced the corruption Earl set out on a smear campaign to destroy me and my family going so far as to try and have me jailed after he ordered the Illegal barricading of our land. Gleason being corrupt assisted Johnson in his quest to silence me.
Speak out Holland.. What do you think of all this. ?????

V.Marina Speare, I just report the news; I do not allege anything in connection with the Christine McCooe matter.
I just know that 01521.com write-in campaign signs disappear every night. I also was personally there when Frank Reilly reported the alleged theft of several signs by Christine McCooe to the State Police. Frank Reilly accuses Christine McCooe of wrong doing, not me; can you see the difference? I do have a “belief” and I believe she did it. I can believe what ever I want. Voicing my “believes” does not constitute making a false statement of fact which is a necessary element of slander. Can you see the difference?
In a sense you are doing what you accuse me of doing. “You are slandering my friend” is a false statement you made that constitutes the legal element required for a suite for slander to be successful. You made a false statement; you did not just voice your opinion. As such you are slandering me. In this sense you are a hypocrite, or even better, a beguiler! This is not just my opinion, this is a fact! A fact I just proved with my argument.... If most of your comments are moved to the Trash Bin it is because you don't follow the basic rules. Making unfounded personal attacks is a violation of one of the basic rules.

Hey Vicky, U can eat what ever you have to say about Chis McCooe. I say she is a thief and feel she should be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I know who you are, and you not even a full time resident in the town so Honestly... What do you know. I watch everyone I know for a fact she took those signs... And I also know if it was me that got caught taking signs that were not mine, I would have to answer to the law. All are getting yours just like it's supposed to be. I just want you to know there is someone in Hollands roots that go far deeper than Jim or Peter pushing all these improprieties. My advise is.. read, listen, and learn. You will see people's true colors as the truth comes out.

There is an old slogan that many new englanders have used for years. If it aint broke , don't fix it. Well, it is broke, and it has to be fixed. What is broken is the trust in Holland's government. There are too many obvious illegalities that have taken place over the years. Government is supposed to be "by the people for the people" not "by some people for some people". I have known Peter Frei for many years. Besides being extremely intelligent, Peter is exceedingly headstrong and very persistent. He is honest, aboveboard, and courageous. When Peter first bought the land he lives on in Holland, he had problems with town officials. He asked 'how can they do these things to me?" " Do they have laws to protect me in this country?" I advised him to get a lawyer. Much to my surprise, Peter represented himself. After hours and hours of study by himself at the law library in Springfield, Peter was able to get his cases heard. Sure it cost the town of Holland some taxpayers money, but in the long run, Peter will be seen as the hero that saved the town. It is ironic that a Swiss man would save Holland. This man deserves more than thanks. He deserves a key to the town and a parade. He is a true American. Single handed, Peter started this movement. Now this blog has made him the Pied Piper of Holland. Guess who started this blog? VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! Speak up! Clean up!

Words of wisdom
“mr.fixit,” thank you for your kudos. No doubt, Earl Johnson is one of the individuals that came to appreciate your statement, “Peter is exceedingly headstrong and very persistent.” However, it is not about Earl Johnson and James Wettlaufer and other corrupt officials as you correctly pointed out in your comment, it is all about government “by the people for the people" instead of "by some people for some people". On my regular trips to the law library I noticed an aphorism edged into the wall above the main entrance to the Hampden Superior Court which reads:
“Obedience to the law is freedom.”
No matter how you interpret these words of wisdom, they express everything a civilized society is about.

It is amazing to me that so much time and energy is spent on bashing good people in the town of Holland. Drive around the poor town of Holland it says it all. The Town is Dirty Trashy junky. You all need to spend the time on CLEANING up your own personal property and then maybe some pride will come back to the poor town of Holland. There is a BEAUTIFUL nature resource in the town known as Hamilton Res. With all this time spent fighting each other just think of what you could have achieved working together on the town’s only resource. People you can jump of this absurd merry-go-round.

To ”Stop the Insanity,” the Holland Blog is giving the residents of Holland a voice. The Holland Blog is where you voiced your opinion. Your comment is different than many that I rejected and moved to the trash bin. Your comment is not just an attack from the other side without any argument; at least you offer an argument. However, I think that your picture of what is going on in Holland is incomplete.

your missing the point
I am fully aware of what is happening in and around Holland, that is NOT the point I was making. My point is for the town’s people to take personal responsibility for their personal property. Clearly this is NOT being done and clearly you have alot of time on your hands , may I suggest you spend time helping others in Holland that can't seem to help themselves clean up their messes, maybe you could lead something like a town wide trash pick-up day that would be productive instead of your own personal Soap Opera. Just a suggestion.

To “Stop the Insanity,” if it is true that you are fully aware of what is happening in town then it is also true that you don’t mind that our lake is put at risk of being ruined by the truck stop, and it is also true that you buy the false argument of the selectboard that the truck stop will bring needed property taxes when in fact the taxes will go up for everybody instead of down.
As “my help” to the town you would rather see as me picking up other people's trash instead of informing them about what is going on. Believe me; I do my share of picking up other people’s trash.
My days are not any longer than yours, I just seem to put the hours to better use than you.
I provide for the people of Holland a pristine 6 acre peninsula. Every so often I roam around my property and pickup trash people trespassing left behind. I provide a total of 1,850 feet of undisturbed natural shoreline for everybody to enjoy. Fishers love to hang out with their boats around my peninsula. I’m offering all this to the residents of Holland while paying $6828.99 in taxes to the town. I never had one child attending school here. The private way running the entire length of my peninsula I maintain and plow myself. Now I provide this Blog…. The Holland Blog is everybody’s blog despite what you would like people to believe. You would like to discard the blog as “Soap Opera” because you don’t like what you see in the “mirror” reading this blog.

Comments do need to relate in some form to the post/entry under which they are posted. Do you get it? Read your comment and tell me it offers some argument other then an attack.

Did you see the card we all got announcing the town meeting?
Is it coincidence that for the first time the printed a slogan on the card. It says "get involved!!!" and guess what the logo is on the front.. An Eagle... HMMMMM who else has that on their signs???? HAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Awesome job on the cards....... Good to see.
It is funny how the sign Frank is holding in the picture at the top of this blog has the same combination of words and logo. Whats up with that????
