Robotic-arm-microphone-stand The Holland Blog received this notice:
When:
May 18th at 7:30PM directly following Selectmen’s Meeting, it will be televised!
Where:
Town Hall Community Room.

Questions will be allowed, and must be in written format, SIGNED and addressed to the Moderator, Dora Metrelis. Questions must be directed to both candidates for an office, not a particular candidate, because both candidates will have the opportunity to answer. Questions will not be allowed if they are personal in nature, obvious attacks or in any way deemed inappropriate by the moderator.
The Candidates Night is organized by Kristin LaPlante, our town clerk.

The Holland Blog initiated the idea in the piece, We need a debate between candidates.
I will submit the questions that I received so far without revealing the name of the individuals that emailed me the question(s). If I see individuals that I know and that emailed me a question(s) in the audience, I will not submit the question and leave it up to the individual whether to ask his/her question.

Yes, I submitted the reader's questions..
Yes, I have submitted all questions I had and had received to Dora Metrelis, the moderator.
Here are the questions I submitted to be asked to the candidates for the seat on the Board of Selectmen:

1. Are you in favor of the proposed truck stop or a freight terminal in Holland?
According to the Department of Revenue, 60% of homes in Holland are second homes with no children attending any schools financed by the taxpayer of Holland; do you think that a truck stop would make Holland more or less attractive for second-home owners?
2. As informed resident and voters know, a Superior Court Judge finally ruled in favor of the LaMoutain’s and Northeast Concepts, and made the finding that LaMountain is after all a farmer conducting farming on the hillside property
What will your position be in the future, if elected, will you side with selectman Wettlaufer and support his efforts to prove that LaMoutain is not a farmer and not entitled to the exemptions under the General Laws that apply to farmers, or will you accept the ruling of the Superior Court?
3. What is the biggest challenge the town of Holland faces, and how would you try to solve it?
4.What should future development in the town of Holland look like?
What, if anything, should the town do to encourage the establishment of new businesses?
5.What or which aspect or aspects of town government needs fixing the most?

Unfortunately, Only the first questions was read to the candidates by Dora Metrelis.
The only question I had to be asked to the candidates for the Highway Surveyor position was:
1. If elected, will you devote your undivided attention to the roadways of Holland, or do you have another side-job or do you run or work for another company or business at the same time?

I will post the video of the candidates night as soon as I have the time.
