Christmas decorations aren't for indoor use only. Lights and lighted outdoor Christmas decorations can be just as fun and just as festive. When you trim the outside of your home with Christmas decorations, you share your holiday spirit with your neighbors and the community.
Decorating one's home for the enjoyment of others is an act of generosity and very much in the spirit of Christmas.

Each year, families spend time together driving around and gazing at the lavish displays of outdoor Christmas decorations.

The most noticeable and ostentatious display her in Holland is somewhat of the beaten track, it is situated on a road with little traffic, unfortunately. If you do not want to miss it, you will find it on 78 Alexander Road.

The picture does the display not justice at all, it is by far the largest display you will find in Holland and for that reason not easily to capture with a camera in just one picture. You have to see it to believe!
It is worth the trip, believe me. Here is just a single part of it, Santa Clause with his sled and Rudolph in front of the rest of the reindeers pulling his sled: Part of the display at 78 Alexander Road

The star of Bethlehem above the residence on 2 Barclay Road tops it all! The display is easily spotted on the east side of Mashapaug road near the new development on the south end of Butterworth Road. It must have been quite a task to just install the display of the Star of Bethlehem.

There is nothing that radiates more warmth than a nice decorated Christmas Tree behind a window inside a house; there are many beautiful ones, large and smal, all over town here in Holland.

As far as I remember, the display at 5 Mashapaug Road was the first one that stood out. Each time I gas-up my car or just drive by I enjoy the display.
Again, the pictures do the display not justice, you have to see for your self!

Some people light up their houses to signify happiness and reverence. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, who was also called the Light of the World.

Many ages ago a Roman Emperor, who was of the Invictus Sol religion, which worships the Sun ... and the winter Solstice was their greatest celebration ... the day that they would know whether the sun had triumphed once more over darkness, declared, in the hope to achieve political unity that ALL religions, and cults (Christianity was considered a cult at that time) hold their greatest celebration on that day.

Many cultures that were subject to deep darkness and cold lit candles, fires, bonfires, to lend strength to the waning power of light ..... to help light triumph over the darkness.

Which decoration is YOUR favorite one?
If I missed some, let me know and I will add them. I did not travel along every road in town.
