The photographs below, showing the illegal actions by Lynn Arnold and Fred Beaulieu, were taken in the comfort of my own house; yes that is correct, I did not even leave my house, I took the pictures out of my bedroom window!
The two hypocrites Lynn Arnold and Fred Beaulieu both sit on town boards, Holland voters elected Lynn Arnold to the Planning Board where she serves as chair person, Fred Beaulieu sits on the Zoning Board of Appeals. The “illustrious” couple is husband and wife and they live on 9 Shore Drive. Lynn Arnold has no job any longer and was running for the position of tax collector during this years elections but was defeated by Nancy Talbot.
The couple is very much into water sport, and not so much into obeying the laws of the Commonwealth and the by-laws of the town of Holland.
Naturally, Lynn Arnold and Fred Beaulieu own a power boat shown in these two pictures; note the address “9 Shore Drive” on the dock!

Massachusetts General Law chapter 90B section 8, provides in part:
(c) No person shall operate any motorboat on the waters of the commonwealth towing a person or persons on water skis, a surfboard or other similar device, unless there is in such motorboat a person who has attained age twelve in addition to the operator in a position to observe the person or persons being towed,Someone I know told me that Lynn Arnold yelled at him from her dock for towing without a spotter while he was operating his boat. Nobody should put themselevs above the law and I commend Lynn Arnold for scolding others for doing so.
However, while hypocrite Lynn Arnold yells at others for towing without a spotter, she habitually does it herself!!
I took the picture on the left the next day; like clock work they were out there a few minutes past 6 a.m. Fred Beaulieu was operating the boat, towing his wife Lynn Arnold without a spotter.
The picture was taken on July 17, at 06:18 a.m.
On the right are two more pictures taken three days later, July 20 2010, at 06:19 a.m.; again Fred Beaulieu driving the boat again towing his wife Lynn Arnold without a spotter.
The bright blue house in the upper left is the house of Christine McCooe, former member of the Planning Board and currently the president of the Hamilton Reservoir Association (HRA).
I needed to use a better lens to get the registration number of the boat, and I was hoping to get a shot from Lynn’s face. She did me the favor (unknowingly) tonight, here we go:
Driving south and on the wrong side of the lake too!
The three pictures above were taken tonight, August 4, at 5:55 p.m. Lynn Arnold is driving the boat without a spotter in violation of the law, towing her husband, Fred Beaulieu.
All these pictures show the couple Lynn Arnold and Fred Beaulieu habitually breaking the law in reckless disregard of the safety of others!
I swim across the lake every day during the summer; a dangerous undertaking with reckless individuals out there roaming the lake! I tried early in the morning and risked getting killed by the team Arnold/Beaulieu; I do it at night and have encountered boats driving at maximum speed in total darkness without any positioning lights or any other lights.. not a very comforting feeling for a swimmer!
As informed readers may know, Lynn Arnold is not only chair of the Planning Board, she is also involved with the Hamilton Reservoir Association (HRA) where she currently is listed as “LOC Chairperson” on the web page of the HRA. Among other things, the HRA promotes safety; here is HRA’s advice to their members on their website:
Members should not only observe all boating safety rules but also help remind others. Anyone noting violations is encouraged to telephone the Holland Police Department with the make and model of the boat along with the registration if possible.
If our officials don’t lead by example and break every law and rule there is, how do they expect the rest of the people to obey the laws and the rules?
Voters of Holland, how do you find them?
I will write more about the past of the couple and what the community can expect from them in the future in another piece....
