The challenges 2010 and following years will bring to our town require prudent individuals to serve the community with integrity and not themselves. If individuals like Johnson and Wettlaufer are “the finest” the town has to offer, we are in deep trouble. The damage already done but not visible yet to the uninformed members of our community is real and will surprise you, (the Holland Blog will write about it in future posts!)
Instead of filing lawsuits, I thought that my time would be better spent informing our community about what is REALLY going on in town and would enable voters to make better choices on election day.
I don’t have any agenda other then making this town a better place to live. Many believe I intend to use this Blog somehow to get elected and make MY WAY to the Town Hall. Not so! Contrary to what many believe, I will not run for any office. This blog may prevent what happened to me back in 2007 from happening to other brave candidates who are willing to serve the public with integrity.
I have personally nothing to gain, I spent countless hours to get this Blog up and running; I also spent countless hours researching and writing posts and comments on the Holland Blog. I’m asking you to get involved; talk to your neighbors, get everybody involved and let’s reclaim our town and return to a government “by the people for the people.”
That said, I see difficult times ahead. I don’t believe that we are in just another recession as we experienced them in the past. The standard of living will decline for most of us, (except for Wall Street bankers). In the years to come it is more imperative to make the right decisions and best use of the limited resources our town has for the good of our community. The time has come for the Johnsons’, Wettlaufers’ and others to leave and make place for individuals who want to serve the public and not their friends and themselves to the detriment of the entire community. It is time for those who don’t follow the rule of law to leave! It is time for those who disrespect the rights of a member of the community - out of spite - to leave! It is time to vote for honest individuals with common sense.
My contribution to our community is this Blog, the “Holland Blog.” On the Holland Blog everybody has a voice! Feel free to use it.. Anyone can mail or email me a post to be posted on the Holland Blog, and everyone has an opportunity to comment on any issue. Everyone can do so anonymously if they so choose.
If the Johnsons and Wettlaufers are re-elected, I fear I will be forced to go back to filing complaints in court to fight for my rights just as I was forced to do in the past. Maintaining the Holland Blog takes a substantial amount of time. Fighting corruption in court is time consuming as well. I can't do both, I just don’t have the time.
Lets change the way our town is governed in 2010 because one thing is for sure; the Johnson/Wettlaufer team will continue to deny their opponents their rights and will waste more taxpayer’s money in the process. Your money can be better spent. All we need is a government with integrity and common sense. We ALL deserve nothing less! Happy 2010!
