As many times before, Brian Johnson showed up. Either his father must call him with the request to watch me and what I’m doing, Brian stops at the town hall when he spots my car, or Brian spends most of his work-time at the town hall chit-chatting with people at the town hall.
This time he had a girl with him, five to seven years of age. As always, he left the town hall right behind me to have an opportunity to exercise his rights to freedom of speech granted to him under the First Amendment; at least he does not do it inside the town hall any longer as he did back on May 30, 2008 ( click here, to read my letter to the selectboard about the incident, and click here to read the selectboard’s answer).
He and the young girl got into a marked dark blue/grey Ford F350 pickup truck of the Holland Highway Department and I took a picture with my I-phone as he backed out of the parking lot.

He attempted to push down the girl so I could not take a picture but was a little to slow. My interest was not to show the girls face, much more the fact that he uses the town truck to chauffeur (his?) children around.
I’m not aware of any daycare center he operates and thought he only takes off Fridays to attend to his construction business he operates on the side; but then again, what do I know...
He rolled down his window as he backed out of the parking lot right next to the town hall and proceeded towards the intersection of Sturbridge and Stafford Road and said: “You look really good, WHITE TRASH, looking really good..”
My next planned stop was in Wales for business. As I was driving up Stafford Road a pick-up truck was driving towards me just before the intersection of Howlett Road/Stafford Road. Stafford Road curves to the right driving towards the center of Holland and the pick up truck was drifting towards and dangerously close to the centerline which was still partially snow covered.
Do you know the uncomfortable feeling of not knowing if the car coming towards you is out of control or just momentarily a little bit over the center line? While I still had the uncomfortable feeling assessing the situation, I realized that it was Brian Johnson’s pick-up truck. As I left the parking lot just behind him, I was sure that he had just turned around further up the road; and sure enough, there were fresh marks consistent with tire tracks on the pavement left by a vehicle that had just turned around at the point were blocked-off Old Stafford Road merges Stafford Road.
I remembered James LaMountain telling me about the same maneuver Brian Johnson preformed as he was driving towards James LaMountain’s pick-up truck last spring.
I do wonder, does he not have anything better to do than to joyride (his?) children with the town truck while he is suppose to work for the taxpayers? Who would be responsible in case the child would get hurt if one of his stupid maneuvers intended to intimidate gets out of control? I do also wonder whether the voters of Holland will “keep the team together” next June’s election...
