First, Thomas Dubrey, a member of the Finance Committee, explained that all the expenditures voted on were already authorized by the voters back on February 2, 2009. Due to larger than expected amounts the town received from the state, the town does not need to borrow the funds.
Mr. Dubrey also informed the audience that two seats on the Finance Committee are vacant and parties interested to join the committee should contact Kristin LaPlante.
There were five requests for motions, all voted unanimous in favor. All three articles were accepted unanimously as well.
There was no motion pertaining to Article #1
The first motion was to change the amounts in Article #2; the amounts were changed from $36,000 to $21,000, and from $15,000 to $30,500. The total amount acted on stayed the same; the amount for Recertification of values was decreased by $15,000 and the infusion to the Stabilization Fund increased by the same amount. The second motion was to change the wording of Article #2.
The third and fourth motion were to transfer from the Board of Health budget for FY2010 $490.29 to pay three invoices dating back to FY2009.
Selectmen Earl Johnson informed the audience that the tax bills would be delayed and would be mailed mid November. This time, the DOR (Department of Revenue) is to blame not the town according to Earl Johnson.
