Old Business:
Wettlaufer stated: “We are actually going to receive slightly more ahh money from the state than we had ahh anticipated.” Wettlaufer had no exact numbers, he left them at home. “Energy work” on the Holland Elementary School is entering the phase where documents are ready to be published to start the bidding process. Wettlaufer stated that the select-board will try to have the work completed by the time the students will be back after the summer break. That will not happen...
New Business:
The state intends to close the Motor Vehicle Registration Office in Southbridge. The Town of Southbridge is opposing the idea. There is a petition at the town hall opposing the idea of closing the local office. Interested registered voters in Holland are invited to sign the petition that is already signed by Petersen and Wettlaufer.
Brent Abrahmason wrote a piece about this issue on his blog, click here to read his piece.
Another written complaint about the property (paved parking space of former bar once owned by James Wettlaufer) in the corner of Vinton and Mashapaug Road was mailed to the select-board. In particular the FedEx Trucks and other unregistered vehicles that are parked there are the subject of the complaint by Elisabeth Perish (not sure of the spelling of the name).
The Holland Blog learned during a phone call to one of the people in charge of the property, that the unregistered FedEx Truck will be removed, another vehicle will be registered, and an unregistered trailer with a boat will also be removed form the property.
The meeting was adjourned at 7.13 p.m.
