William Medina, born on August 9, 1980, a native of Holland was working odd jobs for Paul Minkley and the Robert‘s Auto Clinic and Tire Center in Holland. He was living in the basement of a dwelling located at 124 Old County Road. The dwelling owned by James LaMountain was sold and LaMountain informed Will two month ago that he would have to move out no later than yesterday, February 27. Will was working as a farmhand for James LaMountain at the time and as such was living in the house rent-free.
Lisa Marques born on September 19, 1986, became a foster child of James LaMountain at age 15. Working together with Will in LaMountain‘s fire-wood business, Lisa befriended Will.
Last night around midnight, Will was sitting in a car in front of his mother‘s house, Trudy Vail, located on Over the Top Road in Holland, and complained about the fact that he was forced to move out. Lisa sitting in the passenger seat of the parked car allegedly said in response, “stop whining Will, you knew for at least two month that you had to move out, grow up and grow some balls..” According to Lisa, Will who was sitting in the rear of the car punched her without any warning signs into her left eye as she turned her head. Lisa exited the car and tried to run away. Will grabbed her long hair and pulled her to the ground and tried to take her cell phone so she could not call for help. Lisa then tried again to free herself at which point Will allegedly hit her head against a tree. Will‘s sister just returning from a trip to buy some cigarettes came to Lisa‘s rescue.
Lisa: “If Lora would not have arrived just in time to help me, I don‘t know if I would still be here, I think he would have killed me.” Lora drove Lisa to the emergency service of Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. Today around noon time, Will showed up at his mother‘s house whereupon his sister called the State Police. A few minutes later officers of the State Police arrested William Medina.
The judge set bail at $1,500.00 and at this time William Medina is still under arrest. He will be arraigned Monday morning at 8:30 in Palmer District Court.
Lisa expressed a heartfelt “thank you” to the officers of the State Police stationed at the barracks in Sturbridge for their prompt response and captivity of the suspect.
