The Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs’ (EEA) Municipal
Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program team is anticipating the release of
its next Request for Responses (RFRs) for both MVP Planning and Action Grants
in late September. The MVP program provides support for cities and towns in
Massachusetts to begin the process of planning for climate change resiliency
and implementing priority projects. The state awards communities with funding
to complete vulnerability assessments and develop action-oriented resiliency
plans. To prepare for this release, the MVP team will be hosting a series of
informational sessions across the Commonwealth to give an overview of the
program and answer application questions.

Below are the sessions that we have planned throughout September. In order to
register, you will need to follow the link to the session you would like to
attend. Please only register for one session, as each session has a capacity
limit and we would like to give everyone an opportunity to attend.

•       9/11/19, 1:30-2:30pm – Pioneer Valley Planning Commission, 60 Congress

•       9/12/19, 6:30-8:30pm – Northborough Free Library, 34 Main St.,
Northborough, MA 01532 (part of the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning
Commission quarterly meeting)

•       9/17/19, 10:30-11:30am – MassDEP Southeast Regional Office, 20
Riverside Drive Lakeville, MA 02347 (important information about parking on
the Eventbrite page)

•       9/18/19, 1:30-2:30pm – Chelmsford Police Department, 2 Olde North Rd,
Chelmsford, MA 01824 (important information about parking on the Eventbrite
page)

•       9/19/19, 2-3pm – Webinar

•       9/25/19, 1:30-2:30pm – 100 Cambridge St., 2nd floor, Conference Room A,
Boston, MA 02114 (please bring a photo ID and allow time to get through
security)

In addition to these sessions, our new MVP Regional Coordinators for the
Northeast and Southeast will be available during the below office hours to
field questions on potential project ideas and the MVP grant applications. As
we wait for our other regional coordinators to join the team, please feel
free to reach out to Michelle or Courtney even if your municipality does not
sit in their region.
